The G-4 Wash-Beam is a fast and compact wash moving light capable of outstanding color rendering and a sharp defined beam angle. The optical system is designed to deliver a high-quality color mix with an accurate and precise beam of light. Because of its remarkable output, wide zoom range, qualified color reproduction, accurate color temperature control, and low power consumption, the G-4 Wash-Beam is a very flexible moving light suitable for any application.
LED Technology
The G-4 Wash-Beam is the first moving head able to achieve a coherent and qualified light spectrum in all color temperatures by only using 5 colored LEDs. This is possible because of the combination between RGBAM additive mixing, included Micro-Fresnel lens and precise SGM firmware. The LEDs expected lifetime is 50,000 hours.
Colors
This small but powerful fixture includes RGB mixing in its lightsource with additional amber and mint LEDs to fill the typical gaps of a LED spectrum offering rich whites in all different color temperatures. Through the Color Emulation DMX channel, it is possible to match most of the colors present in the LEE catalog and to output only the amber or the mint LEDs. A plus/minus green function is also included for accurate color control in TV and film shootings.
Optics
Because of its brilliant optical performance, the G-4 Wash-Beam delivers unique features. Its zoom range goes from 4.8° to 34°º with smooth transition and no color shifts. The optical system is designed so maximum output is achieved in the 15º - 18º zoom range, instead of 4.8º beam angle. By doing this, the G-4 Wash-Beam achieves the best light output for its size, which is also the natural beam angle for this kind of moving head.
Micro-Fresnel behavior
The G-4 Wash-Beam uses a Micro-Fresnel front lens capable of a bright light output while delivering a similar performance of the traditional Plano-Convex lenses. As a PC-like luminaire, the G-4 Wash-Beam creates sharp defined shadows in flood position, and diffuse silhouettes in spot position with a visible and a clearly defined beam of light.
Full control via Studio Mode
The G-4 Wash-Beam includes the powerful SGM DMX Studio Mode, expanding its capabilities through a number of advanced features. Select different dimming curves, choose your preferred RGB CTC, RGBAM, CMY, HSI or XY color mode, adjust fan speed to reduce noise, change the LED frequency rate, and increase or reduce the peaks of green in the white output. Learn more about the SGM Studio Mode by reviewing the DMX chart in the "Download" section.
IP rating
The durable IP65-rating of the G-4 Wash-Beam luminaire ensures that the fixture is kept free of externally induced particles and liquids on internal optics and light sources, such as smoke fluid, dust, dirt, airborne pollution, and humidity. Thereby, the need to clean optics is eliminated and no internal corrosion will occur. It is ideal for outdoor applications, while being practically maintenance-free making it a sustainable and long-lasting choice for indoor events and installations as well.
Dehumidification
The internal built-in dehumidifier protects this fixture from moisture, pollution and any other factors that can generate corrosion. The patented SGM dehumidification not only removes humidity but also prevents oxidation and condensation, while a gore-tex membrane equalizes internal pressure to prevent leaks. Photometrics
The G-4 Wash-Beam is able to reach 8190 luxes at 5m distance with an excellent white and only 200W. This is one of the many benefits of using RGBAM color mixing, a Wash-Beam front lens, and accurate color calibration. In RAW mode, the G-4 Wash-Beam outputs a color temperature close to 7,000K with a CRI, TLCI, and CQS above 90, but these numbers are also in a similar range while using 5,600K or 3,200K in calibrated RGB mixing. Linear 2000K - 10000K CT control is also provided.
Interchangeable lens
With the addition of an optional interchangeable Fresnel lens, the G-4 Wash-Beam can easily be transformed into a G-4 Wash. The optional Motorized Barndoors lens module with individual DMX control can also be attached to the luminaire. For theatrical purposes, the G-4 Wash and the G-4 Wash Motorized Barndoors act like a regular fresnel light, while the G-4 Wash-Beam lens emulates the performance of a Plano-Convex projector.
Thermal management
To achieve optimum performance of the LEDs at all times, this bright and accurate luminaire is optimized to manage heat impact through SGM's unique thermal management technology. The technology consists of a uniquely designed body and heat sink, which ensures optimal cooling of the LED chips. Additionally, the special aluminum alloy and surface treatment ensures maximum heat dispersion while the fan-assisted cooling ensures optimal performance at any time and under any conditions (such as variable temperatures, limited airflows, confined installation spaces, etc.).
Like all SGM LED products, the G-4 Wash-Beam consists of SGM's superior thermal management technology and tested under extreme hot and cold conditions, which ensures that the LEDs always operate within safe parameters. Learn more about SGM thermal management
Mounting options
There are many mounting options available in the G-4 Wash-Beam. It can be rigged by using the included easy-fit omega bracket with ¼ turn fasteners, it can be installed in any kind of floor thanks to its integrated rubber feet, or it can be mounted with a special ceiling mount to eliminate the need of the base.
Included SGM technologies
ThermalDriveTM
This thermal management techonology provides Advaced Temperature Control monitored via sensors and software, keeping optimal LED junction temperatures, and ensuring maximum reliability for long-term use. SGM's predictive color mixing algorithm compesates the decay levels of color-based LEDs for superior color rendering. Finally, the ThermalDriveTM system includes cutting-edge heat removal via passive thermal tecniques and active forced-air cooling (depending on the product), specifically designed to maintain LED efficiency while extending fixture's lifetime.
TruColorTM
SGM uses Full Range Calibration in all LED fixtures over CIE space and black body curve, measured via spectrometer and SGM Illumination Lab software. The consistency of each product and its lifetime expectancy is monitored throught inbuilt sensors to compensate color shifting and to allow color temperature re-calibration. To provide the best user experience, SGM's Color Match procedure ensures accurate wavelength reproduction within the product range via colored LEDs, dichroic filters, or CMY mixing (depending on the product); all of them specified to match the SGM color palette.
DryTechTM
SGM's integrated patented Dehumidification process eliminates humidity and breaks down corrosive H2SO4 molecules deriving from polluted air to avoid destructive corrosion. Inbuilt dehumidifiers constantly remove trapped hydrogen from inside of the lighting fixture in a solid estate electrolytic process with no moving parts. The DryTechTM procedure is also based on a Ingress Protection rating of 65 or 66 (depending on the fixture), intended as a full protection against dust and other particles, while ensuring protection against direct water jets.
