Louis Vuitton

SGM LIGHT

Occupying an extremely high-profile location on the Champs-Élysées, the newest flagship addition to Louis Vuitton building portfolio began renovation in 2023. located at number 103 to 111 on the famed thoroughfare, a simple hoarding was not sufficient to conceal the renovation and interior design work on the Art Nouveau-style building, particularly in the build up to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Monogram hoarding was designed and fabricated from brushed aluminium Dibond to emulate the famous Louis Vuitton travel case. An extremely reflective surface, the Dibond material required a completely homogenous light to avoid any perceptible color shadows or imperfections in the lighting design.

Working with clients LEDBOX* in Paris, SGM Light designed and fabricated custom diffusers for the i-1 Linear X, tailored specifically to the needs and design of the hoarding and its support structure. The custom design ensured that the fixtures and diffusers were concealed within the design but maintained the completely homogenous colors and whites. All while ensuring the diffusion material maintained the maximum possible output of the i-1 Linear fixtures.

Opening in 2024, the building served as the venue for Louis Vuitton’s spring 2024 women’s fashion show on Oct. 2 during Paris Fashion Week while still under renovation.

* Specialists in LED lighting since 2008 for professionals in television, film, advertising, architecture, arts and events, LEDBOX positions itself as a company that provides solutions to its customers, ensuring the follow-up of each project from consulting to completion.
