The extremly bright Q-2 is a compact and lightweight flood/blinder/strobe with fast response time, smooth color mixing with no hotspots, and individually controllable segments for pixel mapping applications. Sharing some of the key features of the larger Q-7, like factory color calibration, wide angle lighting coverage, and a powerful strobe effect, the Q-2 also includes the benefits of three-segment pixel mapping control and low power consumption. Because of its rich feature set, powerful output, efficiency, small size, and easy rigging options, the Q-2 is a must-have flood/blinder/strobe for any rental company, touring production, or corporate event.

LED Technology
The Q-2 mounts 864 high-power SMD RGBW LEDs, which may be divided into three vertical segments via DMX to create a powerful and seamless wide-angle projection and a fast-feedback strobe effect. It includes 2,000K to 10,000K linear CTC and SGM's accurate color calibration to match the same colors and smooth dimming available across the P, Q and, i series. The LEDs expected lifetime is 50,000 hours.
Wide coverage with optional accessories
The Q-2 is a versatile luminaire build for numerous production purposes. The 110º beam angle of the Q-2, not only allows for a remarkably bright strobe effect, but also projects a spacious area of light for short-throw applications. The Q-2 is designed to illuminate façades, theatrical sceneries, or cycloramas with a symmetric and even light projection. Optional accessories like 4-way and 8-way barndoors and filter frames add further control and customization possibilities.
Efficacy
The Q-2 is one of the most efficient blinders ever manufactured by SGM. With 44 lumen per watt, it has been engineered to achieve an impressive performance with a very low power consumption. The Q-2 only requires 200W in typical use, outperforming any other flood/blinder/strobe in its class.
Pixel mapping
Three individually controllable DMXsegments are available in the Q-2. DMX modes allow users to control Red, Green, Blue, and White LEDs for each vertical segment, both in 8bit and 16bit modes. This interesting feature makes it possible to operate the Q-2 in pixel mapping configurations, where accurate performance and bright pixels for direct-view effects are desired.
IP rating
The durable IP65-rating of the Q-2 ensures that the fixture is kept free from externally induced particles and liquids on internal optics and light sources, such as smoke fluid, dust, dirt, airborne pollution, and humidity. It is ideal for outdoor applications, while being practically maintenance-free, makes it a sustainable and long-lasting choice for both outdoor as well as indoor events and installations.
Dehumidification
The internal built-in dehumidifier protects this fixture from moisture, pollution and any other factors that can generate corrosion. The patented SGM dehumidification not only removes humidity but also prevents oxidation and condensation, while a gore-tex membrane equalizes internal pressure to prevent leaks. Photometrics
This powerful flood/blinder/strobe delivers 9,000 lumen, which is a staggering amount of light output for such a compact fixture. When only using pure white LEDs, the Q-2 outputs 5,700K color temperature. However, this unit can generate any color temperature between 2,000K-10,000K using all RGBW LEDs.
Thermal management
This bright and accurate luminaire is optimized to manage the heat in a very smart way. Like all SGM LED products, the Q-2 is tested under extreme hot and cold conditions to prevent any kind of failures in outdoor or indoor environments. Learn more about SGM thermal management
Mounting options
The Q-2 can be rigged by using the included easy-fit omega bracket with ¼ turn fasteners. It also includes a basic floor stand to increase stability, allowing users to access the omega locking points easily. Being fully RDM compatible, the Q-2 is ideal for installation in non-accessible locations.
Included SGM technologies
ThermalDriveTM
This thermal management techonology provides Advaced Temperature Control monitored via sensors and software, keeping optimal LED junction temperatures, and ensuring maximum reliability for long-term use. SGM's predictive color mixing algorithm compesates the decay levels of color-based LEDs for superior color rendering. Finally, the ThermalDriveTM system includes cutting-edge heat removal via passive thermal tecniques and active forced-air cooling (depending on the product), specifically designed to maintain LED efficiency while extending fixture's lifetime.
TruColorTM
SGM uses Full Range Calibration in all LED fixtures over CIE space and black body curve, measured via spectrometer and SGM Illumination Lab software. The consistency of each product and its lifetime expectancy is monitored throught inbuilt sensors to compensate color shifting and to allow color temperature re-calibration. To provide the best user experience, SGM's Color Match procedure ensures accurate wavelength reproduction within the product range via colored LEDs, dichroic filters, or CMY mixing (depending on the product); all of them specified to match the SGM color palette.
